1. Privacy-First Philosophy
Textrim is built on the principle of "Zero-Knowledge" processing. We believe your data belongs to you. All text compression, analysis, and cleaning are performed locally in your browser's temporary memory. We do not have a backend that "sees" your text.
2. Data Collection & Licensing
To provide and verify your $2 lifetime license, we collect only: • The email address used for the Gumroad purchase. • The unique license key generated by Gumroad. This data is used solely for license validation and providing technical support. We do not sell or share this information with third-party advertisers.
3. Local Storage vs. Server Transmission
• Text Input: Your text is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party AI APIs. • License Status: To ensure a seamless experience, we store an encrypted "License Active" flag in your browser's LocalStorage. This allows the app to stay unlocked without requiring you to re-verify your key every time you open the tab.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Gumroad to process payments and manage licenses. When you verify your key, a secure request is sent to Gumroad's servers. Please refer to Gumroad's Privacy Policy for details on how they secure your financial information. We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how visitors use our site. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and is GDPR compliant by design. Only anonymous aggregate statistics (like page views and button clicks) are collected. We may display advertisements through Google AdSense or similar networks. If ads are enabled, we use non-personalized ads only, which do not track users or set tracking cookies. No cookie consent banner is required for non-personalized ads.
5. Data Retention & Your Rights
You have the right to be forgotten. If you wish to have your license record and email removed from our verification list, email support@textrim.app. Note that deleting this record will deactivate your license and prevent further use of the Pro features.
6. Security
Because we do not store your text data, there is no risk of your "meaningful content" being leaked from our servers. We protect your licensing data using industry-standard encryption during transmission between your browser and the license verification endpoint.
7. Policy Updates & Contact
This policy was last updated in December 2025. If we introduce features that require data transmission (such as optional cloud backup) or personalized advertising, we will notify you and require explicit opt-in. Questions? Contact support@textrim.app.
